Thank you so much for commenting on my previous post regarding boundaries! I really really love to receive comments and feedback. It motivates me to keep writing, so thank you!
The last commenter was right-on when she said that a bit of my boundary piece was for dramatic effect. And, I in no way want to imply that being a parent or loved one of someone with an eating disorder is easy or not scary! I validate that 100%!
I was more referring to the hundreds of parents and family members that I meet that are SO afraid they are almost paralyzed into letting ED run the family and run their lives!
I have met parents who let their adult children live in their house, drive their car, and binge on their food so afraid of saying something about ED that they don't know what to do. Eventhough the person is not working and living in their home. Families who won't get rid of the scale because they "don't want to upset" their loved one! Husbands who find laxatives or evidence of bulimia and choose not to say anything.
Friends, husbands, fathers, who walk on eggshells because they don't know what to say or what to do!
I
