I was thinking about PTC's comment about how she didn't like sprinting and all those hard drills she had to do in practice.
And I remembered perhaps the most important thing about Practice (and one of the most frequently misunderstood things about Practice- which leads to lots of disappointment and frustration and feelings of failure...) is:
Practice is not always fun or easy; and fun, easy, amusing, etc., are not requirements of effective practice. The important thing about Practice is that doing it is MEANINGFUL to us.
PTC, you'd have to agree, based on your comment, that Practice was meaningful to you. It sure wasn't always fun- sometimes it was downright awful! You did it- over and over again (I bet you didn't skip practice... :) because it was meaningful to you.
(When we have free choice about our lives and get to make our own decisions) we do things because they are meaningful.
In this way, it could be said that the meaning of life or the purpose of life is meaning.
