Yes, Wendy, I'm sure. Messy doesn't necessarily equal bad. And, life has plenty of messiness. And a lot of that messiness is pretty darn interesting, if not downright wonderful (and, I'm pretty sure you already have come to understand that, Wendy)
And I say this from the perspective of a regular old person who is part of the regular human community and traverses life every day. I know plenty about the messiness of life. I'm definitely not spouting off to you guys about things I don't also encounter in life.
When I have a little more time to write, I think I'll do a list of interesting messes we come across... maybe tonight after work. You guys can feel free to contribute :)

too easy. i'm a mess. doh!

I don't know Johanna. I'm very interested in seeing this list because while I agree that fingerpainting can be fun and yeah, the mess that comes from fingerpainting is fun too I'm not sure that compares to the mess from life. Fingerpainting is such an innocent and fun mess. Life can bring on such ugly and horrifying messes that just don't compare and just aren't okay.
Lately I've been dealing with them by checking out (literally checking out- I just sleep life away). I guess that's moving onto a different topic altogether though.

Fingerpainting is a delightful, fun mess.
Life? sometimes delightful, sometimes fun, sometimes delightful AND fun (those are awesome days)
and so very often, it's a big, giant moldy mess of yuck.
Under the mold is a clean counter, but first you have to wade through the penicillin, and as someone who's absurdly allergic to the stuff...i'm disinclined. (and, a Pirates of The Caribbean quote for good measure. "I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means 'no.'"
