Our mothers feed us, clothe us, and comfort us when we are hurt.

It's so nice to have you do all of the research for us. It makes our decision making so much easier!! Thanks.

Not that hard??

Have you read all the people on the internet who are gaining weight while diligently trying to follow the advice in this book?

I have gained 200 POUNDS as a direct result of this book, whose critical author's voices I can't get out of my head, which tells people to load up their homes with their "forbidden foods," then wait, wait, wait until we are hungry before eating, and that it is bad to eat at regular meal times. So then we're starving, with blood sugar crashing, no plan for a meal, and then when starving, we're supposed to "tune in" to what we really want to eat, which, no matter how well stocked the fridge is, never seems to have just that food. And of course, whie in this famished state, with no dinner made yet (because we're not to decide to eat until we're hungry "enough"), we have a kitchen full of our forbidden foods. And frankly, that's what we're craving: the cookies and ice cream, not after having filled up on a nourishing meal and feeling like a little ice cream, but starving and not able to think about anything but eating 1/2 a gallon of it.) How did I gain 200 lbs? Because as soon as I started reading this (at 130 lbs.), I started DELAYING eating until I was hungry "enough" per the words they used to describe the degree of hunger at which we "should" eat, on their "hunger scale." To this day, I wait and wait, can't tell when hungry "enough" is, but it never feels like hungry "enough," and I feel afraid, thanks to their "shoulds" to eat before that degree of hunger. So I wait to eat until very hungry, and then eat and eat, and for years, waaay too much ice cream and cookies, and often late at night.

And one last thing.
These authors put forward their ideas on how to eat without a shred of data regarding what percent of their clients had what if any kind of success, and how many gained weight, and how much they weigh many years after working with these two. Let alone their readers.

In other words, their claims are totally unscientific. Where is the follow-through?

As with any other weight loss claims, spare us the anecdotal stories and show us the data!
