A big part of being recovered for me has meant finding my voice. I have learned how to speak my truth, express my beliefs --- in a healthy way (without being codependent, without hurting myself). Of course, I don’t do this perfectly, but I do my best.
A newspaper reporter contacted me today and asked what I thought about the recent media attention given to Jessica Simpson about her body at a recent chili cook-off event in Florida. She has been scrutinized for not appearing rail-thin.
I find it appalling that our country continues to focus energy and attention on something like the size and shape of one young woman’s body (and a beautiful one at that). I agree with Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz: we should be focusing on things that really matter.
What do you believe?
Love ya,
Jenni

I think it's disgusting that the media targets her weight/size/shape, or anyone's for that matter.
Turning introspective, I guess it's probably just as bad that I focus on my own weight/size/shape. Things that really matter...I suppose my body shouldn't be included in that list.

Honestly, I love celebrities when they look like Jessica and aren't afraid to gain weight and be seen in the public eye. It's really inspiring. I think she looks BEAUTIFUL, she has a healthy glow to her and I do not think she is at all "too big". You can tell she is happy and that is what truly matters.

Yes you are right. I can hardly stand it. I know how ED has turned my life upside down and all around, and I have do not have media chasing after me tracking every pound every outfit. How awful. It makes me so sad. Even Oprah, it is everywhere. It is just so sad.
