Sorry for disappearing for a while. I was finishing up writing my new book! I am so excited about it and can’t wait for you to read it. The book is called Goodbye Ed, Hello Me: Recover from your Eating Disorder and Fall in Love with Life (to be released by McGraw-Hill in September 2009). Goodbye Ed, Hello Me is all about being fully recovered --- leaving Ed behind and finding yourself. It is about truly living!
One part of the book is all about perfectionism. In writing this part, I began to realize that I was being a little too, well, perfectionistic. (Recovering from perfectionism is about progress, not perfection!) I realized that trying to get everything exactly right was slowing me down. In order to finish the book, I had to let go and accept perfectly imperfect.
That got me to thinking about this blog. Sometimes I think perfectionism keeps me from blogging. I will think that I don’t have just the right message, so I just won’t say anything. But I know you don’t care if something I have to say is less than or far from perfect. That said, I am going to try to blog more frequently and much more imperfectly. Please post more comments as well --- even if they are not so perfect.
Let’s all practice letting go a little!
