Hope

Today I had the opportunity to spend time with the wonderful family of my friend who recently died from anorexia. Her memorial service was this morning in her hometown. Many tears fell. Despite the tears, the service was really a celebration of life. One word heard throughout the service was: hope.

In her life, my friend often talked about the importance of hope. She held onto hope and never quit trying. She regularly asked me to share the message of hope with people I meet in my travels. In her memory, I want to share my hope with you:

People do FULLY recover from eating disorders. Full recovery takes full commitment. Full commitment means 100 percent, not 99 percent. To recover, we cannot even hold on to 1 percent of Ed. We have to let go of it all. Letting go ultimately brings a life that you cannot even imagine when you are under Ed’s spell. (Ed doesn't want you to know how good it is without him.) It is an amazing life.

Trust me, and believe in yourself.

You can do it!

Best,

Jenni

thank you :)

I really appreciated your comment that full recovery is possible. You are so right though, 99% commitment will never get you there.

Thanks,

Whitney
