Born and raised in Texas, I often heard that everything is bigger in my home state. Last week I spoke at an event for eating disorders in San Antonio, and true to form, the room was completely filled with people --- wall to wall. It was a big event!
I was not surprised that the speakers who shared their recovery stories radiated with much courage and even bigger hearts. They spoke about the importance of getting support in recovery, maintaining a healthy body, and never giving up. Big ideas!
Even though Texas pride tells me that the huge success of the event had something to do with being in the Lone Star State, I know that bravery, determination, and recovery subside no matter where you may live.
What matters in this big wide world is that you truly live --- not just exist --- wherever you hang your hat. (I guess you don’t have to wear a cowboy hat.)
