We are just a few days from the start of 2013. As the media barrage of hindsights attest, the end of one year provides an opportunity for us to review the previous year and look forward to the new one. This often involves setting goals and resolutions. It is always good for us to allow our past experience to inform and guide us in making new decisions--it is how we learn.
--To express gratitude every day
--To openly express feelings of love
--To listen more
--To express gratitude every day
--To decrease judgments
--To savor every bite of food
--To express gratitude every day
--To experience every step taken
--To get to bed prior to 10 PM each night
--To express gratitude every day
--To read for enjoyment 30 minutes every day
--To put the computer aside by 6PM five nights out of seven
--To express gratitude every day
--To notice and enjoy the sunset each night
--To greet each morning with at least one positive thought
--To express gratitude every day
I could list so many more...but will stop here. Now I get to ponder this list over the next few days and decide which one generates enough passion to warrant a commitment for 2013...or is my favorite already obvious...
Wishing you a New Year filled with peace and joy and sending blessings and gratitude until next time,
Doris

I LOVE this idea, Kym! A gratitude journal…I think Ill join you in writing my gratitudes. Thank you for sharing such a simple yet elegant commitment! Doris

I was given a wonderful but very small journal at a holiday exchange and while it was a nice thought, my friend obviously doesn't know how I journal as I would fill it up in 3 entries. So I decided to turn it into a graditude journal and enter at least 5 things each night. I've managed to do it 6 times out of the last 8 nights and my New years resolution is to continue it.
My goal is to not just think of things to enter at night but during the day to notice things during the day and say to myself "now that is going in my journal." I think if I can get to that point then thinking gratefully will effect my mood all day, not just my evening.
