Andrea's birthday

Yesterday we celebrated what would have been Andrea's 30th birthday. It so very surreal to think that she has been gone for 10 years and would be beginning her third decade. For us she is forever 19.

Why is a "Fat-Talk" free environment important?

By now I would imagine that you are all aware that this is Tri-Delta's "Fat-Talk Free" week. When I mentioned this at one of our local high schools a few weeks ago the "Why?" question arose. Why attempt to end fat talk (i.e.: Do I look fat in this? She shouldn't wear that! It's a shame...you have such a pretty face! I HATE my thighs! and on and on)?

Dear Carolyn ...

In our local newspaper there is a column occasionally written by Carolyn Hax called Dear Carolyn--she writes for the Washington Post so I'm guessing her column is syndicated.  On September 18th a letter appeared from a woman asking for relationship advice. Tom pointed it out to me as he thought the response was a good one. I agree.
