The winter holidays approaching, I thought I’d deviate from the usual “tips” and resolutions. For those in recovery from an eating disorder, here’s a game of 20 questions. See if you can answer, honestly.
1. What do I lose, if I resume old habits?
2. What do I gain, if I learn new ones?
3. When I’m at my worst, who do I hurt most?
4. What do I need today?
5. The word “support” brings what to mind?
6. Who or what sucks up my energy?
7. How many meals did I eat yesterday?
8. What makes me feel content?
9. If my weight changes, what do I lose?
10. If my weight changes, what do I gain?
11. What action can I do today that fits with the word “gentle?”
12. Did I exercise last for my appearance or for my health?
13. When I ate last, did I sit down?
14. What do I see when I look in a full-length mirror?
15. Did I allow myself to be touched yesterday?
16. Why is “fat” so bad?
17. What one thing surprised me today?
18. What hurts?
19. What would happen if I made one small change today?
20. What would my life be like without my eating disorder?

Excellent questions to journal about over the next few days as well as sharing the discussion with my therapist...thanks!

Thanks for this post. I just answered them all in my journal and it was cool to reflect. I can see how I have grown so much in the past year and a half since I had a substantial relapse. I can recall what my answers would have been to each of the questions not so long ago, but my current answers are so encouraging.
