Dr. Christine Selby has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services with a concentration in Athletic Counseling. She is also a Certified Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), A member of the Academy of Eating Disorders and member of the Athletes Special Interest Group for this organization. Additionally, Dr. Selby is working with another colleague to develop an Eating Disorders Special Interest Group for AASP. Dr. Selby has been a contributor to the ANAD newsletter and will begin a local ANAD support group later this year.
Currently Dr. Selby is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Husson College in Bangor, Maine where she teaches a variety of courses including a graduate seminar on Eating Disorders. Clinically, Dr. Selby works with individuals from varying backgrounds and of varying ages at a community mental health clinic. Here and at previous agencies, Dr. Selby has worked with individuals with eating disorders in individual and group formats. Later this year, Dr. Selby will move into part-time private practice with her husband and fellow psychologist, where she will devote her clinical time to working with individuals with eating disorders, athletes (with and without eating disorders), and prevention of eating disorders in local schools.
