Through the years when I was doing the bulk of my recovery work, and in the years since then, it has been and continues to be my experience today that even with all that we now know about eating disorders that we did not know then, and even with all of the resources we have now that I did not have when I first became ill, our most powerful resource for healing, survival, and revival of life continues to be each other. (-Quote from Beating Ana, Part One: "Welcome to Our World")
Ed is very jealous.
Whatever your relationship with Ed, rest assured that he does not want to share you. He is not planning to share you - ever. Ed does not know how to share, and he cannot learn.
But you CAN learn.
You can share Ed with your support group. You can share Ed with your loved ones. You can share Ed with your treatment team. You can share Ed with so many people that want to see Ed gone from your life that Ed finally gives up trying to get your attention back and just. goes. away.
Because Ed cannot learn how to share, he cannot adapt. He will never fit in - especially not in a community that loves recovery and puts recovery first!
What can you do - starting now, today - to start sharing Ed's secrets with people who can help you and support you as you leave Ed behind for good?
