Helping people understand that they are not their anxiety, their fear, their grief or their eating disorder is so important. Externalizing these conditions or struggles so as to not let them define one's self is so critical to the recovery journey.

This is something I'm trying to teach my 5 year-old. It's important for me that she learns to honor and experience her feelings without letting them define who she is.

Right back at you, Cesar - great post about your little girl! I think those are the kinds of skills we need to learn...and so often dont...that in time become calcified into fear-based habits that we could easily do without - if only we knew that.
