To the reader who asked that question: If it gives you any more hope, I had the biggest case of "battle fatigue" from fighting the ED. I was told by multiple people "I know you're tired, and some people can take a week off from 'working on this,' but you're not in a place to be able to do that. I know you're tired, but you don't have a choice. You have to keep trying." And so I reluctantly did. And you know what came next? The biggest breakthrough I had ever had. Right after I felt the most hopeless, right after I questioned if I should just decide to live eating disordered for the rest of my life or not.... right after that I took a deep breath, knew I wasn't allowed to give up, and decided to eat lunch. And, truly, that was the beginning of a huge step into the world of the living and the free. I guess I share this with you to tell you that feeling as hopeless and as tired as you do not IS NOT NECESSARILY a sign that you have years and years more of this fight. I felt so tired right before I had my biggest leap in recovery to date. Timing is weird like that... so don't be discouraged by your exhaustion, your questioning if you can do it.

The answer is you can do it. You don't have to worry about if you can or can't. You can.

Shannon ~ That was an inspiring letter, thanks for sharing. I totally can relate to how this person was feeling. I've been there, several times. And MentorCONNECT has been a major part of my support team. I wouldn't be where I'm at in recovery today with out the support of the people on that site as well as my Mentor. I think my support team is my lifeline whenever I feel like giving into Ed I can turn to a member or part of my support team and realize what I really want is LIFE.

I want to add that I am grateful for the blogs and people on this site. Before I knew about MentorCONNECT or before you started it, Shannon, this site was pretty much all I had in the way of support.

Thank you, Shannon, for starting MentorCONNECT and finding me a mentor! It saved my life!!

YOU ROCK! :)

Hi Ann,
